Vocabulary


1. Word / Phrase:    Rectorico/Rhetorical
Meaning:  A way to give to readers, a joy  reading  the book  and to understand the main meaning of it.
Context:  A animated book for kids that are interesting in start to read at their youngest ages.


2. Word / Phrase: Retortijon/ Twisting
Meaning: Strong pain in the stomach or abdomen.
Context:  A Warning list to help the kids, when they feel sick.


3. Word / Phrase:  Guamaso/ to punch 
Meaning:  To hit, beat up. 
Context:   A radio announcement. 


4. Word / Phrase:  Pilares/pillars
Meaning: Old culumns made of rocks.
Context:  The head teacher, was telling to the kids to draw with colors a pillars.




5. Word / Phrase:  Chiflado/Madman 
Meaning:  A crazy mad.
Context:    The head teacher, was saying that her husband was mad.

  1. Joangel, these vocabulary words look very helpful and very useful as well. I like how you put the translation in Spanish too because you work in a place where little kids speak Spanish and I think is very good from you to teach them these useful words. Keep up the good work. :)

  2. Was the head teacher being serious when she said that her husband was mad? I'm guessing she plays a lot with the youngsters.

    One question: I don't understand the context for the words "to punch". Can you explain?
